Despite the many doubts I also have about Medium, one thing is certain: Medium made me discover so many amazing writers and artists, especially a philosopher and writer like you, Paul, who I would not ever have had a chance to discover. Your stories on a side of China that has never been reported on are just so amazing and eye-opening. For that I am so thankful. Your writing is breathtaking.
A long-time mentor once mentioned to me, that as much as we try, we can never really crack a system we don't know or didn't build ourselves. But as long as there is a positive outcome that fits with our long-term vision, even a minuscule one, at the end of a year, we're on the right path, whatever we do, however. And we can continue that course, even refine, if we so wish.
Of course, this opens up so many questions, but in general, I'm always opting to remain the optimist.
