The magic of composing a color palette from nature
There is rhyme and reason to all the hues and shades in the world
Delving into color can become a weird moment of ‘blank’ sometimes. In an urban environment, we may be confronted with seeing the world in grays, browns, and black. Or, we may not recognize variations of colors because we don’t know where to find them.
So how can we create something colorful?
Nature gives us all the answers when researching colors
If we train our eyes to recognize colors, we can find bursts of limitless color combinations, hues, tones, moods, and gradients.
Nature, whether soaked in warm sun light or obscured by morning mist, presents us with millions of color hues. Highlights and their shadows and every color variety in between are right in front of us. There is display of colors unmatched by any man-made object.
We need not look any further.
Snapshots of plants
As an urban dweller, I don’t see sweeping vistas of pure nature, such as views of autumnal Vermont mountain forests or breathtaking vistas of turquoise beaches in Bali.
