With high energy, I recently applied for participation in a museum show. I gave myself ample time to prepare for the submission. I had decided on the artwork I was going to submit long in advance, written all the necessary project outlines and personal statements, had my CV all edited. I thought I was well prepared as I uploaded my statements a week before the deadline.

But, and there’s always a but…

…this ominous one line item scrolled into view in the submission portal:

Website:

Bummer. This slipped my mind.

A website. Not just a social link. Nope.

How could I?

I’m a digital designer and artist and forgot to keep up my website.

I have many excuses, yet, I have none.

For any artistic soul daring to venture out and participate in the great ocean of public showing, a website presence is a must. Without a web link, online submissions cannot get processed. Gallery owners, curators, even your friends will…
