I blame it all on customers phoning in their orders, have them picked up by Grubhub e-bike delivery guys and gals, and brought up to their work-from-home condos by their concierge. I really actually blame all this development on developers. Monstrous urban development has destroyed just about every locale. Lord knows why city governments let this happen.
I think Starbucks is trying. Boston for instance has some lovely Starbucks with outdoor seating including planters filled with actual plants.
Although I agree with you on their outrageous prices. I only buy their post-holiday sale coffee beans. That’s a a great bargain.
