As a native german speaker, I always cringe when I read literal translations of German words that invoke emotional and poetic meaning. In all instances, the actual translation depends on the context of how the word is used. Personally, I'd translate "Leidenschaft" as "a thirst for doing", or "a thirst for action".

Adding to that is that Leidenschaft as a noun is intrinsically a conceptual description of a state of mind. So, used by itself as an objective, it connotes a "thing", not an ability.

Used within prose, Leidenschaft would need to be substantiated more to match the context.
